My Story

Hello. The update team of the program in Pogradec is asking the mother to receive the updated information for Anila Pere. She is 45 years old and her birthday is on August 19^th. Anila has mental illness from the time she was born. Her mother tells the story that she was delivered as baby earlier from the set time normally, but the hospital didn’t keep her in incubation and afterwards, while she was in the house, her health got worse. Anila gets medication and while she takes it, she is quiet and not aggressive. Her temperament is happy and she can speak only a little, out of what she understands. Anila lives together with her mother who is widow. Anila has another sister who is older and married. The sister who is married has two sons and they come to visit and Anila loves to meet with them. Anila and her mother live together in Pogradec. They own an apartment containing a bedroom and a living room. The house is in good condition. The mother of Anila used to work as cleaning lady in the clinic of the town, now she is retired and receive a small pension. Anila receives also a pension because she is invalid. The amount that they have is very little and for this reason, the mother of Anila has tried to find a job so she can better provide for them both. She got hired during these past months from some elderly people who live by themselves. She goes to the houses of these elderly to clean, do some of the cooking and care for their needs, receiving this way a little payment. Her other daughter, even that she lives far and has her own family is still helping and being a support to Anila and her mother. Seeing these poor conditions and the major needs that Anila has, we have constantly helped Anila and her mother through the program of Adopt a Child and they are both registered. They both receive food packages every two months. We have asked the mother to come and frequent the church services we have on Fridays and she has attended almost in every service and for many years now. She is thankful for the help and care offered to them both, spiritually and physically, through Adopt a Child. God bless you and best wishes from their hearts.
