My Story

It is a joy to greet you on this beautiful day, hoping you are fine! Praise the Lord my family and I attend Prince of Peace Church; we go on Mondays. We have already accepted Jesus in our hearts as our savior. Thankfully, I am healthy and so is my family. My father is Diego Lopez Tuluxan, and he is 35 years old. He makes a living by selling ice cream on ice cream carts. He works in another village and once in a while comes home. My mother is Maria De La Cruz Gutierrez, and she is 34 years old. She works hard at home, and she also raises hens for selling and contributes to the income. At home, we grow corn and black beans just for our consumption.

I am Sebastiana Lopez de la Cruz, and I am a 13-year-old girl. I am a second-grade student, and my learning has improved because I receive classes at school. We are a humble family and because of a lack of resources, it is hard for my parents to support me at school. Later, I would like to work as a maid, so I can help my family. My native language is K'iche´ Mayan dialect, and I would like to learn to speak Spanish because I would like to communicate better with other people. I love coffee which is my favorite drink. The sport I like the most is football. I like Christmas time because of the firecrackers; I light some of them and I have a lot of fun with my siblings. Because of lack of resources, we do not celebrate our birthdays. Being part of Living Water is a big blessing for me because I receive tasty meals, and the dental and medical attention in the clinics which is a big help for me and my family. At home, the main needs for us are groceries, corn, and clothes. This is all for now. May God bless you greatly!
