My Story

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read my letter. My name is Lesly Elizabeth, and I hope this finds you doing well. Before continuing with this, let me tell you that my mom and I gave all this information to a LW teacher to share a little bit about my life with you. We are grateful to him for encouraging us to continue loving the Almighty. My family and I attend an Evangelical Church called new Pact. We usually have services twice a week. Fortunately, we are all in good health. My father is Gerardo Luis Ponce, and he is 30 years old. He makes a living by tending a grocery store in the city to support our family. He usually visits us every six or seven months because of his job. My mom is Odilia Acabal Mejia, and she is 26 years old. As a housewife, she keeps busy doing the chores and raising hens. My siblings and I help to grow corn and beans for our consumption, although our crops do not last as much time as we would like.

Now, I want to tell you more about me. I am 8 years old, and this year, I did not attend school because I was in Guatemala City with my father when classes started. I hope to be able to attend school next year. I would love to do many things when I am older. Some of them are to become a teacher and improve my Spanish speaking since my native language is the Kiche dialect. Therefore, I would love to count on your prayers. My favorite holiday is Christmas because I love watching fireworks and having tamales. I like drinking coffee, and my favorite sport is soccer. There are many things that you can do for celebrating birthdays. In my case, I love receiving many gifts from my loved ones. To end this letter, I want you to know that many needy children like me have been blessed with delicious food at the feeding program. We are deeply grateful to God for this project.
