My Story

Hello! It is a pleasure to greet you in the name of Jesus and I wish you a brilliant and successful day. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. My name is Diego Armando Garcia Garcia and I am 10 years old. Unfortunately, this year I am repeating 3rd grade at school. I continue receiving face-to-face classes every day and I am learning a lot. I hope to pass my grade with God´s help.  At the moment, my stepfather and mother are making an effort to support my brother and me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that she does not have a stable job. Sometimes, it is very difficult to cover all school expenses. In the future, I want to become a good day laborer. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is a very important language. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I like to eat “tamales” (a typical dish) and the light colors that decorate the streets. I like to drink peach juice.  I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of financial resources, but my dream is to have a cake someday for that day. My favorite sport is soccer. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Ruperta Garcia Chingo. She is 38 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home. In addition, she raises pigs and hens to sell and get some income. As you know, my father passed away 5 years ago, so she continues living with his new partner, and we live with them too. He is my stepfather. His name is Juan De La Cruz Jimon and he is 42 years old. Nowadays, he continues working as a day laborer in order to support us with home expenses. We grow corn, black beans, and bananas for our family's consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are groceries and clothes. I want to let you know that we continue attending Full Gospel Church once a week. Thank you to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my mother during the visit. My family and I are grateful to Living Water because thanks to your support I receive medical and dental attention in the clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child in December.  I hope you like to read my letter.

May God bless you!
