My Story

I greet you fondly, hoping you are doing well. My name is Leticia, and I want to share my last news with you. I attend the Catholic Church together with my step-grandmother. We usually attend mass on Wednesdays and Sundays. I have lived with her for about four months ago. Her name is Aura Ajqui, and she is 53 years old. She is a diabetic woman, but she takes medicines to keep stable. She supports me by raising and selling hens and pigs for sale. She does her best, but we need groceries, especially corn. I decided to move in with my step-grandmother because my stepfather has problems with alcohol. His name is Francisco Cux. My mother still lives with her partner and since I left her house, I do not know much from her. Her name is Aura Ajqui and she is 35 years old.

Nowadays, I am twelve years old. I attend school as a fourth grader. I am glad because I learn the lessons better. My step-grandmother has had trouble covering my school equipment. She does not get enough income from her sales. Therefore, I would like to count on your prayers for her and me. Christmas is my favorite time because of the tasty tamal. I love drinking milk and playing soccer. I want to do a lot of things when I am older. One of them is to learn how to speak English. I have fun celebrating my birthday, especially if it is mine. I would love to have a delicious cake for my next birthday. To end this letter, I want you to know the feeding program has blessed me with medicines. A teacher of the LW evangelism team spoke with my step-grandmother to collect this information for you. She said that she trusts the Almighty will take her to heaven. I say goodbye to you for now, but I hope to hear from you soon.

With much love,

Leticia Ajqui Toj
