My Story

Hello! I greet you cordially and hope you have a blessed day. I want to share some news about my family and me. I am Eddy Garcia Simaj and I am 6 years old. I want to let you know that we are not attending a church. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with my mother and encouraged her to seek God and attend church, but she has not taken a decision to attend. This year, I am in kindergarten grade at school. I am receiving face-to-face classes and I am learning all about coloring and drawing. At the moment, my parents are making an effort to support me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that my father does not have a stable job. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I like to eat “tamales” (a typical dish) and we light fireworks. Coffee is my favorite beverage. About sports, I prefer soccer. I want to tell you that I would like to have a delicious cake for my birthday and new clothes. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Alexia Lorena Simaj Riz. She is 20 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home and weaves typical clothes.  Moreover, she raises hens at home. My father`s name is Diego Garcia Hernandez. He is 22 years old.  He earns a living by traveling to the coast to pick coffee beans for 3 months and he works as a farmer. We grow corn and black beans for the family`s consumption. We are a humble family, and our current needs are corn and groceries. We are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gifts that I receive every year. I hope you like my letter. May God reward you everywhere you are!
