My Story

Hello! I greet you from the bottom of my heart and I wish you a successful day alongside your loved ones. I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. I am Pedro Lux Simaj and I am 13 years old. I want to let you know that we are not attending any church.  Thank you to the LW team for their encouraging words and because they shared the Gospel with my aunt during the visit. This year, I am in 5th grade at school. I am receiving face-to-face classes and I am learning a lot about homework.  At the moment, my mother is making an effort to support my siblings and me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that she does not have a stable job. In the future, I want to become a fireman. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because we light fireworks. Among sports, my favorite is soccer. What I would like to have for my birthday is a delicious cake. My favorite drink is coffee. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Tomasa Simaj. She is 27 years old. Currently, she lives in Guatemala City and works in a tortillas business there.  At the moment, she sends some money every 2 or 3 months to support the home expenses.  She comes to visit us every 6 months.  My grandmother Florencia takes care of us while my mother works.  We are a humble family, and our current needs are corn and groceries. We are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive every year`s end. Thank you for reading my letter.  May God take care of you everywhere you are!

Huge hugs,

Pedro Lux Simaj
