My Story

First of all, I want you to know that I am so grateful to you for taking the time to read my letter. I am Edgar Giovany, and I am fourteen years old. At the moment, my mother and I do not attend church. However, an evangelism teacher of LW shared the gospel and encouraged us to look for the Almighty soon. He also collected this information for you. My mother is Vicenta Calachij, and she is 40 years old. Sadly, my father abandoned me many years ago, so my mother has strived a lot for our family. She raises hens, turkeys, and pigs to get income when she sells them. When the coffee harvesting time comes, my whole family and I travel with her to work. My oldest brother also helps us with some money. His name is Manuel, and he works at the border with Mexico for an iron factory. Thankfully, we are in good health. Our priority needs are food supplies, like corn. Taking advantage of this moment, I want you to know that I am grateful because I have the opportunity to be part of the feeding program. This project has blessed me with tasty lunches and Christmas gifts. 

I am in fifth grade. I like attending school because I learn my lessons better than studying at home. When I have days off, I take advantage of working for my neighbors as a farmer to help my mother with some money. Fortunately, my education level is not demanding at the moment, and my mother can support my expenses. One of my dreams is to work in the United States to help my mother economically when I am older. Therefore, I also would like to learn how to speak English someday. Christmastime is the best for me; my family and I enjoy eating delicious tamales (this is a typical dish) and burning firecrackers. My mother prepares many hot beverages, but what I love is drinking Incaparina (this is a typical hot beverage). For my birthday, I love sharing a special lunch with my family to celebrate. I like sports, but what I love the most is playing soccer. I say goodbye to you for now, but I hope to greet you again soon.
