My Story

Hello! I am so happy to greet you by this letter. I want to share some news with you about my family and me. This is Anderson Jonathan Garcia Gutierrez, and I am 9 years old. This year, I am repeating the 2nd grade at school. I am receiving face-to-face classes every day, and I enjoy this study method because I understand better how to do the homework, and I hope to pass the grade. Thank God my parents are doing their best to support me at school.  My native language is Quiche Mayan, so I would like to learn English; I think this is a very interesting language. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I like to eat “tamales” (a typical dish). My favorite beverage is orange juice. Soccer is my favorite sport. What I like to do for my birthday is to spend the day with my family and to have a “piñata” (a kind of puppet filled with candies). Nowadays, we are not attending the Assembly God Church. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who encouraged my grandmother to continue seeking God.

I would like to open my heart and tell you something important about my parents that I never did in the past. My mother`s name is Rosa Maria Gutierrez Ruiz and she is 27 years old. At the moment, she continues living and working in the United States She went there about 7 years ago. She works in a restaurant as a waitress. My father`s name is Mario Antonio Garcia Morente and he is 29 years old. Currently, he also continues living and working in the United States.  He works in a car wash. My parents support us financially and we have communication with them. Currently, my grandparents Pedro Garcia and Manuela Morente are taking care of me. My grandmother does the chores at home. In addition, she raises hens, turkeys, and goats to sell to get some income and also for our family`s consumption. We are a humble family, so our current needs are corn and groceries. We are grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at year`s end. May God bless you greatly!

Kisses and hugs,

Anderson Jonathan Garcia Gutierrez
