My Story

I wish you a brilliant day hoping you are fine alongside your loved ones. I want to share with you some news about my family and me. This is Nazario Morente Garcia and my age is 14 years old. Nowadays, we are attending Assembly of God Church twice a week. We are sure of our salvation because we believe in Jesus. As you know, my father passed away many years ago, and my mother does not live with us. Currently, I continue living with my aunt Manuela Morente and my uncle Pedro Garcia who are taking care of me and supporting me economically. My aunt is a housewife. In addition, she raises cows, turkeys, hens, pigs, and goats to sell and get some income. My uncle continues working as a day laborer in spite of his elderly age. We grow corn for our family`s consumption. I want to let you know that all my family and I are in good health.

This year, I am in 4th grade at school and I am receiving face-to-face classes every day. I like this study method because I understand all about the homework. My uncle and aunt strive to support me at school. Nowadays, school fees are expensive, and sometimes, it is difficult for them to cover all expenses because they do not have a stable job. When I am older, I want to become a fireman. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, and I would like to learn English. My favorite celebration of the year is “Easter” because we eat “tamales” (a typical dish). I love to drink grape juice. What I like to eat for my birthday is a delicious cake with my family. Among sports, I prefer to play soccer. My family is very grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, dental and medical clinics, and spiritual support. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I have received every year. We are a humble family so our current needs are groceries and corn. Sending love!

May God bless you,

Nazario Morente Garcia
