My Story

I am so excited to share my information with you; God bless you! Praise the Lord my family and I attend Catholic Church; we go once per week. We have already accepted Jesus in our hearts. My family and I are in good health, thanks to the Lord. My mother is Juana de la Cruz Morente, and she is 37 years old. Most of the time, she does the housework and she also raises hens and pigs for our consumption. Sometimes, she sells them if we have some need. My father is Ramiro Garcia Luis, and he is 39 years old. He makes a living by farming the land in our village. At home, we grow corn and black beans for the family's consumption.

I am Encarnacion Elizabeth Garcia de la Cruz, and I turn 11 years old in October of this year. I am a fourth-grade student; I like attending school because my learning is better. My parents are striving to support me at school, even though they do not have enough resources. My native language is K'iche´ Mayan dialect. I can speak a little Spanish, but I would like to improve it so that I can communicate better with other people. When I grow up, I would like to be a secretary and be able to help my family. Playing football is so much fun; it is my favorite sport. My favorite drink is Pepsi. At Christmas, we prepare “tamales” (a typical dish), and we enjoy them at Christmas Eve dinner. Something I would like to have on my birthday is a “piñata” (it is a kind of puppet filled with candies) to break it with my siblings; It would be great for me. Being part of the Living Water is a big blessing for me because I receive tasty meals which are a great help for me and my family. The greatest needs are corn. This is all for now.
