My Story

Special regards from Chixocol village! I am Juana Elvira Gomez Gutierrez, and I am so happy because I know you are taking a few minutes of your time to learn about my life. I am 13 years old, and I am in fifth grade. I have made many friends at school. My best friend’s name is Jenoveva. We usually get together to talk. I am glad because I have felt God’s presence in my life and family. My mother told me that I used to get sick when I was a child, but the Lord strengthened my body throughout the years. I am healthy now. Jesus is my Savior, and I enjoy learning about him at my church.

My family and I are members of the Catholic Church. We enjoy taking part in Mass, especially during Holy Week. Now, let me tell you a little about my parents. My mother is dedicated to taking care of our family, but she also raises and sells chickens to contribute to the expenses. My father works hard as a farmer and a day laborer to cover our needs.
