My Story

It is a blessing for me to greet you through this letter! My name is Jenifer Joselyn, and I hope you are doing well. I attend the Catholic Church in Zacualpa town. My family and I go to mass on Sundays. I really trust God is in my heart. The people who I live with are my mother and my three siblings. My father does not live with us because he has another family. However, he visits and helps us economically every month. His name is Carlos Garcia, and he is 40 years old. He makes a living by carrying people or packages from one place to another in his vehicle. My mother is a housewife and keeps busy doing the chores and raising our pigs. Besides that, we have hens that my mother sometimes sells. Her name is Marta Jimon, and she is 37 years old. We are a humble family, so our needs are food supplies like sugar, spaghetti, and rice. In addition, it has been difficult for my mother to cover my school expenses because money is not enough. Therefore, I would like to count on your prayers for my family and me. Despite our low resources, we try to survive by cultivating corn and beans for our consumption. Thankfully, we are in good health.

I am in fourth grade. I like attending school because I learn my lessons better than studying at home. I also enjoy spending time with my friends during recess time. My dream is to become a nurse when I am older. I am a Quiche native speaker, but I would like to improve my Spanish knowledge to communicate with more people. I love celebrating Christmastime because we take advantage of this to spend unique moments with our loved ones. I like drinking atoles, but my favorite is Incaparina (this is a typical hot beverage). My eleventh birthday will be in August. What I enjoy doing for this day is visiting a special place and eating a delicious meal there. I like playing soccer because this is my favorite sport. Now, let me tell you that LW is a great blessing for my family and me because of the tasty lunches and medical care, besides hearing the gospel, which is the most important. I leave you now, but I want to tell you that my mother helped me to provide this information to a teacher of LW so that you could hear my last news. If you want to hear something else from my life, feel free to ask me.

Sincerely yours,

Jenifer Joselyn Manuela Garcia Jimon
