My Story

It is my pleasure to greet you and I trust that our Lord is taking care of you! Praise the Lord my family and I attend Catholic Church; we go once per week. My mother has already accepted Jesus in her heart as her savior. My family and I are in good health, thanks to the Lord. My mother is Angelina Cux Tzunux, and she is 32 years old. She does the housework, watches over my siblings and me and raises some hens. My father is Miguel Gomez Garcia, and he is 52 years old. He makes a living by tending the grocery store that he has in Zacualpa's town. My father grows corn and black beans for the family's use.

I am Mary Estefany Gomez Cux, and I am a 11-year-old girl. I am a fifth-grade student; I take classes at school which is helping my learning, and I can play with my classmates. I thank God for blessing my family and giving me the opportunity to attend school and have what I need. My dream is to continue with my studies until I become a professional. The English language catches my attention, and I would like to learn how to speak it. Christmas is one of my favorite seasons of the year, I like the Christmas lights and eating “tamales” (a typical dish). I get so happy when my birthday comes because I receive some gifts and my family celebrates with a cake. Let me tell you that here in Guatemala, we have a protein drink called “Incaparina” which is delicious and is my favorite drink. The sport I like the most is football. Being part Living Water is a big blessing for me because I receive a meal and medical care in the clinics which is so helpful for me and my family. At home, the primary need for us is groceries and corn. We thank God for blessing us and providing for our daily sustenance. Well, this is all for now. Many and rich blessings to you!

With much love,

Mary Estefany Gomez Cux
