My full name is Jose David Monroy Gomez, and I am so happy to greet you through this letter. I am 10 years old, and I am in 4th grade at school. I like hot weather because I enjoy taking cold showers. Fortunately, I am in good health and I help my mother to do the dishes and sweep. Thanks to the donation of good-hearted people, I have had the blessing to enjoy delicious meals at the feeding program and receive medical attention for about six years. My parents are grateful to LW-Adopt A Child because I can get the same benefits they were blessed with in their childhood. They both remember with much love the food the staff served them. Today, my father is a healthy man who dedicates his time to the construction area to support our family. My mother works as a babysitter three times a week to contribute to the household expenses. The rest of the week, she keeps busy taking care of me and doing the household chores.
Please pray for her health situation. She suffers from arthritis and takes prednisone to mitigate the pain. She needs a few medicines more to complement her treatment, but our resources are not enough to pay for it. About our spiritual life, I tell you that we attend the Catholic Church, which is in La Plazuela, Jocotenango town. We are glad to be part of this church because we are increasing our faith by taking part in some meaningful activities like mass and processions. Sister Raquel (a member of the LW evangelism staff) recently asked us if God asked you, “why should I allow you to get in Heaven?”, what would your response be? My mother’s answer was that she considers herself unworthy for being imperfect. Sister Raquel told her that nobody is perfect and trusting in Christ is the key to get in Heaven. This is all for now, but I hope you found this information engaging.
With much love,
Jose David Monroy Gomez
