My Story

Hello! I greet you cordially and wish you a blessed and beautiful day.  I want to share a little about my family and me in this opportunity. My mother`s name is Francisca Benito Garcia. She is 33 years old. Nowadays, she continues doing chores at home, weaving typical clothes to sell and get some income in order to support us financially. Moreover, she raises hens and pigs to sell too.  As you know, my father abandoned the family 13 years ago. So, she is the only one that supports the family economically. We grow corn and black beans for our family`s consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are groceries, corn, and firewood. At the moment, we continue attending the Catholic Church every Wednesday. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words during the visit. So, she is sure of her salvation in Jesus. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

I am Marta Julia Portuguez Benito. I am 13 years old. This year, I am in 4th grade at school. I receive face-to-face classes every day, and I am learning a lot about every topic with this study method. At the moment, my mother is making an effort to support me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive and that she does not have a stable job. Sometimes, it is very difficult to cover every expense. My dream is to become the best weaver. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I like to light fireworks. I like to drink Pepsi-Cola. I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of financial resources. Among sports, I prefer athletics. My family is grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that you sent to me at the end of the year. May God bless you and protect you everywhere you are!

Lots of love,

Marta Julia Portuguez Benito
