My Story

Special regards from Duenas village! My full name is Nataly Elisa Perez Esquit and I am so happy to write this letter to let you know a little about my life. I am a healthy girl and I will turn 11 years old in November. I am in fourth grade and I usually sweep or wash the dishes to contribute to the chores. I prefer the hot weather rather than cold because I like going for walks and going to the rivers. I have attended the feeding program for about three years, which has been a blessing because I can spend time with other children. My mother had the opportunity to go there when she was a child. She still remembers with much joy that LW staff organized a beautiful activity to celebrate Children’s Day and a woman sang. Due to her beautiful experience and the medical and dental care that LW-Adopt A Child provides, my mother felt motivated to take my brother and me there. She is doing well and helped me to compose this letter. She is dedicated to taking care of our family, while my father works hard to bring food home.

Fortunately, my father is also doing well and makes a living as a farmer. I am glad to tell you that I still have my grandparents with me. They live with us but do not contribute to the expenses since they no longer work. My family and I are members of the Assembly of God Church. We are motivated to persevere there because the sermons are helpful to learn more about God, who has always been good with us. Sister Raquel (a member of the LW staff) recently talked with my mother about how she can be assured of going to heaven. She believes that having good behavior will help her to reach this spiritual goal. Therefore, sister Raquel encouraged her to continue working hard to take care of her salvation by trying to be better than yesterday and correct her mistakes. It is time to say goodbye, but I kindly ask you to pray for my whole family and me so that God keeps us healthy and safe.
