My Story

Hello! I greet you with this letter hoping you are doing fine. It is a pleasure for me to share with you a little about my family and me. I am Ingrid Gutierrez Grave, and I am 13 years old. This year, I am in 5th grade. I receive face-to-face classes, and I have been learning well so far! My parents do not have a stable job, so that is very hard for them to support me at school. My native language is Quiche Mayan, but I would like to learn English; I think this is an important language. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because we light fireworks. My favorite beverage is “mosh” (a hot drink made with oatmeal). In the future, I would like to travel to the city and look for a job in order to help my family. Soccer is what I love to play in my spare time. What I like to do for my birthday is to eat a delicious cake with my family. Currently, we continue attending the Catholic Church every Monday and Wednesday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who encouraged me to continue seeking God. So, I am sure of my salvation. I want to let you know that all my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Cristina Grave Mendez and she is 42 years old. At the moment, she continues doing chores at home and working as a farmer, and she raises hens, turkeys, and sheep to sell and get some income. My father`s name is Romeo Gutierrez Ruiz and he is 45 years old. He continues working as a farmer and day laborer. In addition, he sells firewood. As a humble family, our priority needs are corn and groceries. We are grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at year`s end. Take care. Many and rich blessings to you!

Huge hugs,

Ingrid Gutierrez Grave
