My Story

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read this letter. This is Marelyn Marisol, and I am glad to share my last news with you. I attend Ebenezer Church with my mother. We usually attend our services on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I do not have my biological father with me because he lives with his first family. His name is Alejandro Gutierrez, and he is 47 years old. He makes a living as a bricklayer and helps us economically. His health condition is good. My mother, Dominga Gomez, is 43 years old. She dedicates her time to doing the household chores. Besides that, she raises a few chickens to sell and get extra income. I help her to feed them. Nowadays, my mother suffers from gastritis, but she takes medicines. I hope she gets better soon. We do not have a house, so we must rent one. It has been difficult for us because sometimes we do not have the money to cover the rent payment. I want to use this moment to tell you that LW has been a meaningful project for us. Many children like me can receive delicious food.

As for me, I want you to know that I am ten years old, and my health is in good condition. I attend fourth grade and I prefer to receive face-to-face classes. That method is the best to learn and understand the lessons. Nowadays, it has been hard for my mom to buy my school supplies. One of my biggest dreams is to become a nurse when I am older. I also would love to speak English someday. Therefore, I would like to count on your prayers for me. My favorite holiday is Christmas. Most of the time, my mother and I prepare delicious tamales to celebrate that lovely time. My favorite drinks are juices and I like playing soccer. I had my birthday in February. My mother usually prepares a special lunch to celebrate my day with our family. To end this letter, I want you to know my oldest sister Ana helped a teacher of LW to collect all this information for you. I say goodbye to you for now, but I hope to hear how you have been doing lately.

Sincerely yours,

Marelyn Marisol Gutierrez Gomez
