My Story

I greet you in the name of Jesus and I hope you are doing fine. I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. I am Hugo Fabian Luis Hernandez and I am 10 years old. Thank God we continue attending the Prince of Peace Church every Monday and Saturday. We thank the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words. This year I am in 2^nd grade at school. I am receiving face-to-face classes every day.  I prefer this study method because I learn a lot. My stepfather strives to support me at school. Nowadays, school fees are expensive and sometimes it is difficult to cover all expenses due to a lack of stable jobs. My dream is to become a teacher. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with other people.  My favorite celebration of the year is “New Year” because we light fireworks. “Incaparina” is what I like to drink (a hot drink made with soy and corn flour). About sports, I like to play soccer. I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of financial resources. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

My mother`s name is Cecilia Luis Hernandez. She is 34 years old. At the moment, she is a housewife and she carries firewood for others. In addition, she is raising hens and pigs to sell and get some income. As you know, my biological father abandoned the family 9 years ago. Nowadays, my stepfather Hugo Efrain Ruiz Ajqui continues supporting us with home expenses. Currently, he lives in Guatemala City and continues earning a living by carrying veggie packages from one place to another place. He comes to our house every 2 or 3 months. and We grow corn for the family`s consumption. As a humble family, our current need is corn. We are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive every end of the year. May God take care of you in everywhere you are!
