My Story

This is Neimar Danilo Toj Barrera, and I am writing this to update my 2023 information. First, I will tell you about my family. We are still members of Prince of Peace Church, and we attend the service on Monday and Wednesday. We are assured in our Salvation. We raise hens, and we sometime sell them to improve the income. We also grow corn for our consumption, but it is not enough for the whole year. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries. My father’s name is Abraham. He is 33 years old, and he is in good health. He works as a farmer and day laborer to cover our needs. My mother’s name is Rosa. She is 25 years old, and she is in good health too. She works hard at home and takes care of us.

Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 8 years old, and I am healthy. I am in 1st grade, and I am happy to receive face-to-face classes because I learn more. It has been difficult for my parents to cover my school expenses. I want to have a chicken farm when I am older. My favorite celebration is Christmas because I can light fireworks. We do not have the custom to celebrate my birthday due to our low resources. I prefer soccer as a sport, and I love drinking “atol de masa” (hot beverage made from corn). I want to improve my Spanish since I speak Quiche dialect as my first language. Living Water is very important in my life, and I am grateful for the delicious food and medicine received. I hope to hear from you soon.

All the best
