My Story

Hi! I greet you in the name of Jesus and I wish you a successful and brilliant day. I am Axel Kevin Mucia Sohom and I am 10 years old. As a family, we continue attending the Prince of Peace Church every Monday. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel with my mother and for their encouraging words to her during the visit. Thankfully, this year, I studied the 3rd grade at school. I received face-to-face classes every day and learned a lot with this study method. Nowadays, school fees are expensive, but my parents made an effort to support my brothers and me with school expenses. Sometimes, it was very difficult to cover every transportation expense. I went to school on a moto-taxi every day due to my walking problems, and my parents paid for it. My dream is to become a draftsman. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English which is a very interesting language. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because our custom is to light fireworks. I like to drink Coca-Cola. What I like to do for my birthday is to eat a delicious cake. Among sports, I prefer cycling races. I ask for your prayers for my health. As you know, I continue to have walking problems. Thank God, the rest of my family is in good health.

My mother`s name is Cristina Sohom Gomez. She is 37 years old. Currently, she does chores at home, and she weaves typical blouses to sell and get some income. In addition, she raises hens, and pigs also to sell and sometimes for our family´s consumption. My father`s name is Agusto Mucia Chic. He is 38 years old. Nowadays, he earns a living by working as a farmer and day laborer in order to support our family financially. Moreover, he grows corn on a rented piece of land for our family`s consumption. As a needy and humble family, our current needs are groceries and corn. We are very grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive every December through LW. I hope you like to read my letter. May God bless you richly!

Lots of love,

Axel Kevin Mucia Sohom
