My Story

Hello, good morning! My full name is Juana Maricela Coj Garcia and I am so happy to write this letter to share a little bit about my life with you. I am 12 years old and I am doing my best at school. I am in sixth grade and I am in good health. When I stay home, I help my mother to weave typical clothes. She is a single mother and works hard by weaving and embroidering clothes. Her health condition is good, which allows her to work as a day laborer too. She is such a hardworking woman, who does her best for my siblings and me. Unfortunately, I have not heard anything about my father since he abandoned us about six years ago. I tell you that I prefer cold weather because it is more comfortable to do the chores like washing the dishes.

I attend the Assembly of God Church and I would like to have the privilege of helping my sisters in Christ to clean the church. My family and I feel motivated to persevere there because of the different activities that help us to increase in faith, such as fasting, praying in community, and singing to praise the Lord. My mother thinks that we must be respectful, kind with others, and trust in God, which is the most important thing to be admitted in Heaven. It is time to say goodbye, but I want you to know that my family and I are grateful for all the benefits that I have received at the feeding program, thanks to you and many people who donate to continue the social work of LW-Adopt A Child.
