Upper Mokra
Albania
Child
Hello! My name is Renea . I am 11 years old and my birthday is on September. I am doing well and my health is good. My favorite color is white. I have not yet thought about a future dream, even though I have many desires waiting for my future. I like football and as soon as I finish school, I meet to play in the sport field of our school. I support Barcelona soccer team and follow the matches on television, whenever they play with different teams. I go to school in sixth grade and enjoy learning. The subject I like to study best at school is English. I like to learn to speak this language well so that I can have communication abilities with foreigner people wherever I might be going to work, in case I live the country. When I go inside the house, I sit to study and do the homework for the next day of school and afterwards, I spend my free time helping my family a bit in the garden or while they feed the cow in the fields. I have two younger sisters. I like to care for them while they play in front of our house, and I also spend time to help them with their lessons and studying. My family and I live in a village that belongs to the community of Trebinja, upper Mokra. Our village is in the district of Pogradec. The town is near, but because the roads are not fixed, we travel by minibus for more than an hour to reach there. My family consists of five members who are my parents, sisters and me. Our house is in good condition and my father has built it new. Like all the people in our village, my parents deal with farming. They plant vegetables and crops on the land and raise animals to make a living. My parents plant quite a lot so that we have food for us and our animals. We have a cow and a horse. My parents feed the cow daily in the fields, and during the winter they feed it inside the barn. During the last two months, my parents have been working hard to store the food for the horse and the cow needed for the whole winter. My father collects wood in the mountain so that we can have our house warm during the winter. Winters usually are very cold in our area, so we burn lots of wood. Every year, my father sells the calves and the amount that he receives covers some of our very needs in our family. My father has emigrated in Greece so that he can better provide for us. He has gone this year to work in Greece for three months and was hired in construction. We are happy that he is hired and that he has such an opportunity. We are not too poor because my parents are both working in the fields and my father goes to work in Greece, but on the other side, our needs are many and living in such a remote village is hard. I am thankful to the Adopt a Child for the food packages they bring to help me and my family. My sisters receive also food packages because they are in the program too. The three of us are very happy to go and learn about God in the Bible classes that are done in a place that is rented for us to meet. Thank you from our hearts for the generosity and care and God bless you in return.
