My Story

Hello! I greet you in the name of Jesus and hope you are doing fine. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me. I want to open my heart and I want to let you know that unfortunately, my mother also abandoned us. She went to live with another man far away from our village and she does not support us financially.  I ask for your prayers for us. Currently, we continue living under my grandparent's care. My grandfather´s name is Lucio Morente. She is 62 years old. Nowadays, he works as a day laborer. My grandmother's name is Juana de la Cruz.  She is 60 years old. At the moment, she does chores at home. Moreover, she raises hens, turkeys, and pigs to sell and get some income. Sometimes, domestic animals are for our consumption. We grow corn, black beans, peach, and bananas for our family's consumption. Our current needs are corn and groceries because we are a humble family. At the moment, we continue attending the Prince of Peace Church every Tuesday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel and for the encouraging words that they shared with me during the visit and I received Jesus as my savior in my church.  Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Marvin Giovany Morente Morente and I am 15 years old. As you know, I am not studying because I do not want, but I am helping my grandmother with chores at home and gathering firewood. My dream is to become a truck driver. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish to improve my communication with others. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because I enjoy receiving my gift through the Feeding Program LW Adopt-A-Child. I like to drink coffee and lemonade. What I like for my birthday is to eat a delicious cake. Among sports, I prefer soccer. My family and I are grateful to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child in December. May God bless you greatly!

Lots of love,

Marvin Giovany Morente Morente
