My Story

I am Josue, and I am excited to share my last news with you through this letter. Let me tell you that my family and I do not attend church at the moment. Nevertheless, I am grateful because the LW staff shared the gospel with my oldest sister Ashly to encourage my family to look for God. They took advantage of that moment to collect this information for you. This project is so important in our community because of the tasty lunches that we receive. My mother, Iris Jerez, is 38 years old. She keeps busy doing the chores and looking after our seven chickens. My father works hard to support our family by digging river sand to sell. His name is Mateo Toledo, and he is 41 years old. Our resources are lower, so our priorities are food supplies. Fortunately, my father has been able to support my school expenses, so I am thankful for it. At home, there are two people who have some health issues, but they are stable. The rest of my family and I are doing well.

This year, I am enrolled at school as a second grader. I like receiving face-to-face classes because I learn my lessons so much better. I look forward to becoming a policeman to help my country when I am older. I also would like to learn how to speak English someday. My favorite holiday is Christmas because this time brings you happiness and you can celebrate it with your loved ones. I like drinking Coca-Cola and my favorite sport is soccer. I am eight years old and my next birthday will be in December. I love celebrating it because my family prepares a delicious and special lunch for me.
