My Story

Hello! This is your friend, Maria Karina Gutierrez Garcia, and it is a great blessing to write this letter to update you about my life. I hope you are doing well alongside your loved ones. By the grace of the Lord, I am a healthy 12-year-old girl. As you know, I dropped out of school a few years ago. So, I use my free time to help my mom with the household chores. On weekends, I take care of my youngest siblings and play with them. Taking advantage of this letter, I want to thank you so much for blessing me with food through LW-Adopt a Child. What I love having the most is hamburger patties at the feeding program. The staff organizes a lovely Christmas party annually at the feeding program. What I love the most about the party is receiving a Christmas gift and the games.

I want you to know that my father returned to live with us recently. However, I am sad because he has problems with alcohol, and due to that, he does not help us economically. Therefore, I beg you to pray for him. He works in a place where they make brick and tiles. On the other hand, my mom is a housewife. She also weaves typical clothes to earn a little money to support our family financially. Fortunately, we grow our own corn and beans at home. We also raise hens for our consumption. We are members of Mount Sinai Church. Fortunately, my mom received Jesus in her heart some years ago. To end this letter, let me tell you that a teacher of the LW evangelism team encouraged my mom and me to seek God even more to strengthen our faith. That was a blessing for our souls. See you later!
