My Story

It is a beautiful day to send my greetings and I hope you are doing great! This time LW staff shared the gospel with us and encouraged us to look for a church and seek God; we appreciate the advice. Thankfully, I am healthy and so is my family. My father is Luis Alfredo Matias Aguilar, and he is 62 years old. He works by driving a bike cab in San Miguel Dueñas. My mother is Victoria Diana Aracely Alquijay Garcia, and she is 32 years old. She does the housework and sells tortillas to get income. I want to tell you that I am living with my grandmother, Maria Victoria and my uncles in another village called Jocotenango. My parents allowed me to stay with my relatives because my school is nearby; I visit my parents on weekends or a day off. Fortunately, my parents are giving me school support. My grandma is 55 years old and she works by selling tortillas. We have four dogs as pets.

I am Luis Alfredo Matias Alquijay, and I am 13 years old. I was in seventh grade; going back to face-to-face classes was so good for me because I understood the lessons better. Even though my parents were striving to supply what I needed for school, nowadays the school supplies are so expensive. My dream is to become a policeman and a lawyer. The languages that catch my attention are English and Japanese, so I want to learn them. The sport I like the most is basketball. Let me tell you that here in Guatemala, we have a protein drink called “Incaparina”, which is delicious and is my favorite drink. The climate I prefer is winter; I like the cold and the environment in those months. I get so happy when my birthday comes. I get together with my family and we enjoy a delicious lunch; it is very special for me. I am so blessed to be part of the Living Water program; I enjoy attending and receiving my meals. The most needed items at home are groceries, and we thank God because He is providing for us. Well, this is all for now. May God bless you abundantly!

Bunch of hugs,

Luis Alfredo Matias Alquijay
