My Story

Hello!

My name is Angel Josue Mixiya Melgar, and I hope you and your loved ones are enjoying God’s blessings. I am 10 years old, and my birthday was on August 25th. I am a third-grade student and currently, I receive face-to-face classes and hand in homework three times per week. Besides that, I receive extra information from school via WhatsApp; therefore, my parents top up the phone with internet plans. I am deeply grateful to the Lord because everything is going well in my studies since I go to school often. Let me tell you that I enjoy playing with my toys in my free time. Let me tell you that my father still works at San Sebastian Farm; he grows coffee to support our necessities. While he works there, my mother does the chores, prepares our meals, and takes care of my younger siblings. We take advantage of dinnertime to spend time with my father; we enjoy it so much. Christmas means a lot of things to us, but unfortunately, we could not celebrate it last year because some people in my family were sick, but it was not from Covid-19. Nowadays, we are doing well and continue being members of the Foursquare Church, which is a three-minute walk from where we live.

Unfortunately, it was closed for several months due to the pandemic, and we felt sad for not being able to attend it. Luckily, it is open again and works as usual. My family and I live in our own house; its walls and roof are made of tin sheets, and the floor is ceramic. Our home has two rooms, a separate kitchen, electricity, and running water. As you know, we were affected when the virus spread everywhere. It was difficult for us, especially for my mom; she could not continue working to help my father with her income. Since then, we have learned to move forward, but sometimes it is hard because food is expensive. After a long time, the feeding program is open again; this is a great blessing for my siblings and me because I missed eating delicious lunches. We usually walk for five minutes to be there. Finally, let me tell you that I gave this information to an evangelism team member to share with you my last news. I send you my hugest hugs and hope to receive a letter or picture from you soon. May God bless you greatly!

In Jesus’ name,

Angel Josue Mixiya Melgar
