My Story

First, thank you so much for taking the time to read my update. This is your sponsored child Pedro, and I am excited to greet you through this means. I hope you are doing well wherever you are. My family and I attend the Catholic Church on Mondays and Thursdays. Thankfully, none of us are sick so far. My father, Victor Jimon, is 38 years old. He continues working in the field to support our needs. My mother, Ana Pu, is 39 years old. She is a housewife and tries to help with her income by weaving typical items. Nowadays, everything is expensive. We need groceries at home, especially corn. Fortunately, my siblings and I can attend the feeding program. It is a meaningful project for my family and me because of spiritual and material support such as food, Christmas gifts, and medicines. We occasionally sell our domestic animals to get extra income. We raise pigs and hens. Besides that, we harvest corn and beans for our consumption. The main item in our diet is corn, but it is not enough to feed our big family for the whole year. Therefore, we must buy it.

As for me, I want you to know that I attend school as a third grader. I prefer to receive face-to-face classes because I learn so much more than studying at home alone. My father does his best for our family, but sometimes it is hard for him to cover my school supplies like uniforms, schoolbags, and notebooks because they are expensive. I would love to make a living as a driver when I am older. Therefore, I would like to count on your prayers for my future to accomplish my dreams. The rainy season is my favorite because it brings me a lot of happiness. To enjoy the cool weather, I love drink Incaparina (it is a typical hot beverage) which is my favorite. I had my birthday in April. However, my parents could not celebrate it because of a lack of economic resources. The most popular sport in my country is soccer, so I like it a lot. To end this letter, I want you to know that a teacher of LW spoke with my sister Sebastiana to collect all this information to let you know about it. I say goodbye to you for now, but if you want to hear something else about me, feel free to ask me. See you later!

Sending you many hugs,

Pablo Ricardo Jimon Pu
