Hello! My name is Kristel Milagros Betzaida Arias Gonzalez, and I am so happy to write this letter to let you know about my news. By the grace of the Lord, I am a healthy 16-year-old girl. Between hot and cold weather, I tell you that I like both because I enjoy playing water alongside my cousins in the summer and love drinking coffee. I am in 9th grade at school, and I am grateful to God for these ten years that He has allowed me to attend the feeding program. My mother knows that LW-Adopt A Child is a blessing for many kids and teenagers, so she has allowed my brother and me to be part of it. She told me that she used to attend the feeding program, too. She remembers when her family used to travel to Antigua Guatemala to attend the dental clinic. Besides that, she enjoyed attending the Bible classes as I do now. It is nice to listen to the gospel before having our meals. Please pray for provision, health, and job stability for my mother. She is doing well, but she is worried about our education expenses and other costs of living. My brother is having vision problems and needs to go with a specialist as soon as possible.
My father died on May 13, 2021. Since then, it has not been easy for my mother to find a job because of her age, but she is grateful to the Lord for being able to bring food home. She makes a living by cleaning houses. I try to help her with the household chores like cooking. We still do not attend a church, but we recognize that we are nothing without God. Brother Juan Carlos (a member of the LW-Adopt A Child staff) shared the gospel and posed a question for us to reflect on regarding Heaven: “If God asked you, why should I allow you to enter Heaven?”. In response to this question, my mother felt ashamed and said that she considers herself not worthy to enter Heaven for being a sinner. However, she asks God for mercy to be able to get in someday. Now, she knows that following Jesus and accepting him means having eternal life. Therefore, I kindly ask you to pray for our spiritual life so that God guides us. I say goodbye for now, but thank you so much for taking the time to read my information.
Sincerely yours,
Kristel Milagros Betzaida Arias Gonzalez
