My Story

Hello! I am grateful to God for allowing me to share a little bit about my life through this letter. My full name is Joselyne Riz Gomez and it has been such a blessing to attend the feeding program for the last ten years. What I like the most is praying after receiving Bible lessons. My mother used to go there when she was a teenager, and thanks to her nice experience, she enrolled me there. Today, I am a healthy 16-year-old teenager. I was in sixth grade last year, but I did not continue studying because of a lack of financial resources. I stay home and help my mother to do the household chores, while she works hard as a day laborer and farmer. She has been the main supporter of our family since my father abandoned us.

My father traveled to the United States about eleven years. He used to send us money to cover our needs, but he stopped doing it about three years. My mother and I live with my grandparents and uncles, and we all contribute to the expenses. Could you please pray for my mother? She just found out that she suffers from diabetes about one year ago. Fortunately, she is already under treatment. We do not attend any church at the moment. Sister Yesenmia (a member of the LW staff) recently talked with my mother about the importance of allowing Jesus to come into our hearts. She told us that she has assurance of being admitted into Heaven because she already received Jesus in her heart as her savior. Moreover, she shared a verse of the gospel with my mother as an encouragement to look for God. It is time to say goodbye, but I hope you enjoyed reading my information.

With much love,

Joselyne Riz Gomez
