My Story

Hello! I greet you from the bottom of my heart wishing you a successful and brilliant day. First of all, my family and I are grateful to Living Water because I receive medical and dental attention in the LW clinics. In addition, I have a meal and spiritual support at the Feeding Program. I want to let you know that we continue attending the Prince of Peace Church every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Thank you to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words to my mother during the visit. So, she believes in Jesus. My mother´s name is Juana Grave Chingo. She is 51 years old. At the moment, she earns a living by shelling corn for the neighbors in order to contribute to home expenses. In addition, she raises hens and a cow to sell and get some income. My father´s name is Jose Grave.  He is 53 years old. Nowadays, he continues working as a farmer and he travels to the coast to work as a day laborer in the coffee plantations. Moreover, he grows corn for our family`s consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are groceries and corn. Thank God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Telma Floridalma Grave Grave and I am 13 years old. This year I am in 6^th grade at school. I receive face-to-face classes every day and I am learning a lot with this study method. At the moment, my parents are making an effort to support my sister and me at school in spite of the school fees being so expensive. My dream is to travel to the United States and look for a job in order to earn my own money and help my family. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. Christmas is my favorite season of the year because I like to celebrate that date. I do not celebrate my birthday due to a lack of money. I like to drink water. Among sports, I prefer soccer. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through Living Water Adopt-A-Child every December. I hope you like to read my letter. May God bless you greatly!
