I praise the Lord for allowing me to greet you through this letter. This is Maria Cristina Morente Ruiz, your friend. I am 16 years old, and I am in good health. I am glad to tell you that I am in tenth grade this year. This is my first year of two years in a training in education to become a teacher. I attend school in the afternoon. Please pray for my brother Mario and me so everything goes well at school. On weekends, I usually help my mom with the household chores. Let me tell you that my mom dedicates her full time to weaving typical blouses and belts. She sells her products to help with her income at home. She also raises hens for our consumption. Fortunately, she is stable thanks to the medicine that she takes to control her diabetes. My father is a day laborer and farmer. Besides working for other people, he takes time to grow corn for our consumption. Fortunately, he is in good health. The Lord has been faithful with us, and proof of his mercy is that my parents have a modest grocery store at home and a tuk-tuk to get income to support our family economically.
We have attended the Prince of Peace Church for many years. Thankfully, my parents accepted Jesus as their Savior many years ago. I am so glad to be part of LW-Adopt A Child because the staff has blessed my family and me very much. For instance, a teacher of the LW evangelism team encouraged my mom to continue persevering spiritually. My favorite food at the feeding program is fried chicken. Last year, I had fun celebrating Christmas at LW. What I enjoyed the most were the Christmas songs and choreographies. I say goodbye to you now, but I hope to hear from you next time. See you later!
Kisses and hugs,
Maria Cristina Morente Ruiz
