My Story

I greet you from the bottom of my heart and I hope you have a successful day alongside your lovely family. I want to share some news about my family and me through this letter. I am Ericka Yolanda Ruiz Chingo and I am 18 years old. I want to let you know that we continue attending the Prince of Peace Church twice a week. We are grateful to the LW evangelism team for their encouraging words during the visit. So, as a family, we believe in Jesus. As you know, I am not studying, but I am helping with chores at home. My dream is to get a good job in order to support my family. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn English; I think this is a very interesting language. My favorite season of the year is winter because the weather is cooler. I like to drink “mosh” (a hot drink made with oatmeal). Among sports, I like football. I do not celebrate my birthday because we do not have the financial resources. I want to let you know that my family and I are in good health, but I want to let you know that my mother continues to have problems in her lungs. She visited the doctor, and he said that she needs surgery, but she is afraid and worried.  I ask for your prayers for her.

My mother`s name is Gregoria Chingo Mechen. She is 55 years old. Currently, she continues doing chores at home. In addition, she is raising hens for our family`s consumption. My father`s name is Ricardo Ruiz. He is 50 years old. At the moment, he continues working as a farmer. We grow corn for our consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are groceries. We are grateful to you and to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the special gifts that you have sent to me with love. Thank you for reading my letter.  Sending love. Every blessing to you!

Many hugs,

Ericka Yolanda Ruiz Chingo
