My Story

Hello! My name is Eljon Pura. I am 13 years old and my birthday is on July 25^th. I am doing well and in good health. My favorite color is blue and my future dream is to deal with sports, get trainings and become a football player. I go to eighth grade at school where I spend the first part of the day. I enjoy learning and my favorite subject where I have reached the highest grades is Math. Right after school, my friends and I join to play football for a few hours. We play football in the roads and after playing we spend time to fellowship as we walk around. Time spent with friends is special for me and every time I can, I like to be with them. I try my best to help my parents with whatever they ask me to do in the house. I help my mother chapping and preparing the fire wood for her and I also do some of the shopping. I live in Rodokal and my family contains five persons. I have my father, mother as well as a brother and a sister. My brother is 15 years old and my sister is seven years old. They are both frequenting school and are also in the program. When we study our school books, my older brother is helping me study well and checks my homework to have it properly done. My father owns a minibus and he is working as driver, transporting passages from the village to the town. He is considered as hired and constantly brings income to provide for our family. As we are living in the village, we own land but my parents are not dealing very much with agriculture because my father has a job. Even though, my mother is working in the land and she plants vegetables for consumption. She has recently planted peppers, tomatoes, beans, onions, and other kinds of vegetables and I am also helping her. We consume these products without having the need to buy them. Only my father has a job and the income we have in our family is low, but we are not too poor compared to the majority of the families who live in our village. We are thankful to the program of Adopt a Child for the help we gain spiritually and physically. My brother, sister and I receive food packages at the program and we frequent constantly the Bible classes, church services and the other activities that the church organizes for us.
