My Story

Hello! My name is Gritli Rustemi. I am 15 years old and my birthday is on October 12^th. I am doing well and in good health. My favorite color is blue and my future dream is to become a cook. I like to work in the future, after I finish school, in a restaurant so that I can provide income for myself and to help my family. I will start on September the second grade of high school here in the village. I enjoy learning and I am also fond of sports. I like to spend time to play football with my friends. My favorite subject at school is physical education. During this hour, we get trainings in sports. At present, from June till September, I have been in the house and helping my family. Summers are very busy for us. We own land and have planted crops and vegetables. I am helping both my parents while they are working in the fields We have two goats and while we work in the fields, we take them to be feed in green pastures. In a portion of land, we plant food that they need for consumption during the seasons that we feed them inside. We gain dairy products and my father sometimes sells a few sheep to earn a bit more of income. Agriculture is very less beneficial and for this reason my father has emigrated in Greece every year. He stays working in this country for six months. My father has not a stabile job and he is working as hired, in construction or in agriculture, so he is doing different jobs that are offered to him. My mother is doing the housekeeping and she works in our land and garden. She is also feeding the sheep. She does a lot of work, especially when my father is in emigration and I do my best to help her. I have in my family five persons and they are my father, mother, two sisters and I. My sisters are ten and five years old. I care for them both because they are younger. They are in the program also and I bring them to the church when I frequent the Bible classes and church services. We are not considered too poor, but we are living with very low income. I am very thankful to the program for the food that is provided for me as well as for the spiritual care. God bless you in return.
