My Story

This is Keivyn Esduardo David Chivalan Riz, and I am writing this to update my 2023 information. First, I will tell you about my family. We are still members of Prince of Peace Church, and we attend the service on Monday and Saturday. We are assured in our Salvation. We raise hens and pigs, and we sometimes sell them to improve the income. We grow corn and it is for our consumption, but it is not enough for the whole year so we have to buy the rest. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries and corn. My father’s name is Esteban. He is 36 years old, and he is in good health. He left to go to the United States last year, and he is now working in a milk factory. Fortunately, he is sending money for our needs. My mother’s name is Micaela. She is 31 years old, and she is in good health too. She works as a weaver and looks after our domestic animals.

Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 13 years old, and I am healthy. I am in 5th grade, and I am happy to receive face-to-face classes because I learn more. It has been difficult for my parents to cover my school fees and supplies. I want to become a musician and play the saxophone when I am older. My favorite celebration is Christmas because we prepare the traditional “tamales”. We do not have the custom to celebrate my birthday due to our low resources. I prefer soccer as a sport, and I love drinking “mosh, Incaparina and atol de masa” (hot drinks made from oat, soy and corn). I would like to learn English language. Living Water is very important in my life, and I am grateful for the delicious food. I say goodbye to you for now.

All the best
