My Story

I greet you from the bottom of my heart through this letter and hope you have a successful and blessed day. In this opportunity, I want to share some news about my family and me. My mother`s name is Juana Gutierrez Mucia. She is 34 years old. Nowadays, she continues doing chores at home and taking care of us. Moreover, she raises pigs to sell and get some income. My father`s name is Jose Chach.  He is 36 years old.  As you know, he is separated from my mother and never legally recognized me. I have only my mother's last name. Currently, he continues living and working in the United States.  Fortunately, this year we have good communication with him.  He calls us every 15 days and sends some money for our home expenses. We grow corn for our family's consumption. Our current needs are corn and groceries because we are a humble family. At the moment, we continue attending the Catholic Church every Monday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who shared the gospel and for the encouraging words that they shared with my older sister during the visit. By the grace of God, my family and I are in good health.

My name is Esperanza Gutierrez Mucia and I am 15 years old. This year l am not registered in school due to a lack of financial resources. Thank God, the last year I passed the 6th grade.  Nowadays, I am helping my mother with chores at home. My dream is to become a seamstress. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with others. My favorite celebration of the year is Christmas because we light fireworks. I like to drink coffee. What I like to do for my birthday is to eat a delicious cake. Among sports, I prefer marathons. My family and I are grateful to you and to Living Water because we have been blessed with meals, medical and dental, and spiritual support. Thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive through LW Adopt-A-Child in December. I hope you enjoy reading my letter.  May God bless you greatly!

Huge hugs,

Esperanza Gutierrez Mucia
