My Story

Hello! I am Leandra Balla. I am happy to share with you about myself and family going through the questions that the Adopt a Child team asks of me to answer. I am 16 years old and my birthday is on December. I am doing well and in good health. I like to be dressed in clothes containing dark colors and my favorite color is black. I frequent the first grade high school in my village and enjoy learning. My future dream is to become a nurse so that I can work in this profession in hospitals to help people in needs. When I return from school, I start with cleaning and do many other things that have to do with housekeeping in order to help my mother. After doing the housekeeping, I sit and listen to music. I enjoy music and it makes me relax. During the evenings, I sit to study again so I can get prepared for the next day of school and when I study, I also help my younger brother with his studying and school homework. I live in a village near Prrenjas. I have in my family my father, mother as well as a brother who is younger. Our house is in good conditions.  We own land and deal with agriculture. my mother usually plants vegetables for consumption and we keep a few chickens to gain fresh eggs. Around our land and garden, we have also fruit trees. Only dealing with agriculture, we have very less products or income for the living therefore my parents are both working elsewhere. My father works in construction when he is hired. He is not working full time and sometimes we are financially challenged. My mother has a full time job in a company that deals with cleaning sea products and making them ready for consumptions in restaurants or shops. She works all day but her play is very small. My brother and I are both registered in the sponsorship program. We go to the church of the program and follow the activities that are going on in this church. We receive food packages constantly and are happy that these packages are a good provision of food for us and our family.
