My Story

Hello! Wishing you a blessed day alongside your loved ones. Fortunately, my family and I continue attending The Good Samaritan Church; we go once per week. We have already accepted God as our Savior. We appreciate so much the encouraging words that LW staff gave us. By the grace of God, we are in good health. My father is Carlos, and he is 37 years old. He works by making water wells, and he is the one who supplies our home expenses. My mother is Ingrid, and she is 30 years old. She stays busy with the duties at home, and she raises hens, pigs and cows. At home, we grow corn for our consumption, and we have some tangerine trees.

This is Carlos Eduardo Grave Toj, and I am an 11-year-old boy. I am attending 5th grade; I like to attend school because my learning is better. Due to a lack of resources, it has been hard for my parents to buy all the school supplies. My native language is Quiche dialect, and I would like to learn to speak Spanish because I would like to communicate better with other people. I also want to learn to speak English. When I am older, I would like to be a policeman. My favorite drink is orange juice. I like to play football in my free time; it is the sport I like the most. I love the summer because I can go out playing with my friends. I also like Christmas time because at that time my mother cooks “tamales” (a typical dish), and it is delicious. Something I would like to do on my birthday is have a party and invite all my friends; it would be wonderful; I hope to do it someday. It is a big blessing for me to receive a plate of food in the feeding program, so I am very thankful to Living Water for all the support toward me. At home, the greatest needs are groceries. Hoping you enjoy my letter. May God bless you wherever you are!

Hugs with much love,

Carlos Eduardo Grave Toj
