Hello! I send you many greetings hoping you are in good health and you are enjoying the life with your family. I want to share a little about my family and me in this opportunity. My name is Marisol Hermelinda De La Cruz Ajqui and I am 12 years old. My mother`s name is Dominga Ajqui Hernandez. She is 37 years old. Currently, she does chores at home and she continues raising hens, and pigs. Moreover, she washes clothes for others in order to help with home expenses. My father`s name is Romeo De La Cruz. He is 40 years old. He continues working as a day laborer and also travels to the coast to pick coffee during the harvest season. We grow corn, and peaches for our family`s consumption. As a humble family, our current needs are corn and groceries. At the time, we continue attending the Catholic Church every Monday. Thank you to the LW evangelism team who shared the Gospel and encouraged my family to continue seeking God and trust in him. Thank God, all my family and I are in good health.
This year, I am in 6th grade at school. Currently, I am receiving face-to-face classes every day. I prefer this study method because it is easier and I learn a lot. My parents strive to support my siblings and me at school. Nowadays, school fees are expensive and sometimes it is difficult to cover all expenses due to a lack of stable jobs. When I am older, I want to become a teacher. My native language is the Quiche Mayan dialect, so I would like to learn Spanish and improve my communication with other people. I love to celebrate Christmas because I spend the day with my family. My favorite beverage is “Incaparina” (a hot drink made with soy and corn flour). I do not celebrate my birthday because of a lack of economic resources, but I am sure that someday I will. We are grateful to Living Water because I receive the meals, medical and dental attention, and spiritual support. I want to say thank you for the Christmas gift that I receive at year`s end. May God bless you greatly!
Many hugs,
Marisol Hermelinda De La Cruz Ajqui
