My Story

Hello, my name is Vilma Josefina Morente Ajqui. It is a pleasure to greet you today and provide this update for you. I am thirteen years old, and I am in third grade. Unfortunately, I did not pass my classes last year, so I had to repeat third grade again this year. Now, we are finishing up the school year, and I pray that I did well enough to move on to the next grade. It is really hard for me to do my homework assignments and understand the content, but I trust God to help me through. I want to tell you a little bit about my family. My mom’s name is Mariana Ajqui Coj. She is a stay-at-home mom. She takes care of me and my siblings. She also works hard doing the chores, and she raises and sells chickens to make a little extra money. I admire my mom so much because of how hard she works to take care of us and provide for us. My dad’s name is Eulalio Morente Bartolo. He is a farmer. He Grows corn, beans, and sometimes does odd jobs for neighbors to make some money, since he is the one who primarily provides for us. Sadly, he is struggling right now with his health. He has had constant headaches. He has gone to the doctor, and the doctor gave him medicine to take, but it has not helped him.

 It makes me so sad to see him like this. He can’t get relief, and it is very upsetting for me, but we pray that God will heal him soon. We go to church at Prince of Peace Pentecostal church. We love going to the services and especially the thanksgiving services where we give thanks for the harvest each year. I love learning about God and Jesus. Jesus is a friend to me, and I love learning about how much He loves us. I love playing with my little sister, Irma Morente. She is my best friend. We always go to Sunday school together. That is all for now, but I thank you for taking the time to read my information and get to know me. I pray God will bless you in all you do each and every day. I send much love and big hugs!
