My Story

This is Gregorio, and I am glad to share a little about my life with you. I hope this finds you doing well. I live with my younger siblings and parents. My church is Catholic, and I usually attend it every Monday along with my family. Thankfully, all of us are healthy. Felix Barrera is 58 years old, and he is my father. He still makes a living in the field and cuts coffee beans at the coast during the coffee harvest, which starts in September and finishes in February. Besides that, he grows herbs to sell and corn and beans for our consumption. My mother is Juana Garcia, and she is 48 years old. She is a housewife who continues raising our domestic animals; we have some hens, pigs, and sheep to sell when they are older. Our economic resources are lower, so I stopped studying since my parents could not continue cover my school needs. Our most demanding needs are food and clothes. Fortunately, our health is in good condition.

Nowadays, I work as a day laborer almost all week. I also help one of my uncles with his farming store on Thursdays and Sundays. I like how my uncle makes a living, so I would like to do it when I am older. Besides that, I would like to learn how to speak English too. My favorite holiday is Christmas because I enjoy burning firecrackers. I like drinking pineapple juice, and my favorite sport is soccer. Celebrating birthdays brings me excitement and happiness, especially if it is mine. What I love the most is eating a delicious cake with my family. Now, let me tell you about the feeding program. We are grateful because the LW staff provides material and spiritual support to everybody without distinction. A teacher of the evangelism team spoke with my mother to share the gospel and collect this information for you. I leave you now, but I appreciate you taking the time to read my letter. May God bless you!

Kind regards,

Gregorio Barrera Garcia
