Cuatro Caminos
Guatemala
Child
Hello, my name is Francisca Hermelinda Morente De La Cruz. I am an eighteen-year-old girl who lives in Guatemala in a small place called Cuatro Caminos, which translates to “Four Roads”. I am so excited to share some information with you today. I know God will lead the right person to my profile, and I pray He will touch you heart as you read my biography. I am no longer in school, but I don’t have a job. I stay home and help my mother in the house with the chores and housework. I have been in the Living Water feeding program for many years now, along with a few of my brothers and my sister. I have a big family, with six brothers and one sister. Unfortunately, we are experiencing some difficult times right now. We recently lost almost all of our livestock, including cows, sheep, and goats. This was devastating for us because these animals were a huge part of our livelihood, but God has shown up for us in big ways, and little by little, we have been able to recover and replace our animals. We are still praying for God to work miracles over our family and our finances. We also have been struggling with illnesses and disabilities. My father, Pedro Morente Riz, is sick right now. He always has headaches, and he feels very weak. He has still been able to work, but he can’t go to the doctor because we don’t have the resources for him to go. He works as a farmer, and he provides for our family with everything he earns. My mother is also suffering from gastritis. Her name is Maria De La Cruz Gomez. She was on a treatment plan, but she has to stop taking treatment because we didn’t have enough money. She usually stays home and does the housework, but she also raises our animals to sell so we can make a little extra money, because every little bit helps. I want to tell you that I also am struggling with constant throat infections. Luckily, I have been able to see the doctor at the program and get some medication. This has been a blessing for me, especially since we can barely afford our necessary expenses.
Something that always helps me to relax and destress is hanging out with the people I love the most. The family member that means the most to me would probably be my brother, Yobany. He understands me so well, and he always supports me. We have each other’s back, and I am so grateful for him. I am also grateful for my cousin, Estela. We have been best friends since we were little. We love to talk and hang out, and we always go to the feeding program together. As a family we attend a catholic church. We are grateful for the church family, and we enjoy the mass services. We also love when they do celebration services for birthdays and other special dates. I want to tell you that my mom is the one who shared this information with the Living Water teachers. She was able to speak with them, and they shared some encouragement with her. She asked for prayers for our family, and especially for my two brothers, Marvin and Bayron. They are both deaf in both ears, and they wear hearing aids, but they both need new hearing aids, and they are very expensive. My mom prays that we will be able to get them the hearing aids they need so they can hear better. I also as that you pray for my whole family. Even though you don’t know us very well, I know there is power in prayer. I know Jesus is the one in whom we find Truth and healing and life. I pray for the health and wellbeing of my whole family and for God to work miracles. I want to close here, but I thank you for taking the time to read my information. I hope it touched your heart. May God bless you abundantly today and always.
With much love,
Francisca Hermelinda Morente De La Cruz
